Innovative applications development reflects the capability of IT resources in leveraging business processes. Through IT, productivity is increased, processes get automated efficiently and knowledge is managed. Innovative applications provide the competitive advantage over rivals. In a nutshell, creative use of IT through innovative applications allows for an improved, efficient and effective business environment.
The field of IT and computer science are two areas which have experienced tremendous changes. Within just over a span of 50 years, beginnings with the infamous Von Nuemann's architecture to the current state-of-the-art machines, we have witnessed how both computer hardware and software have evolved and most inevitable will continue to evolve. This evolution process is attributed to the extensive research and development efforts conducted at institutions of higher learning and industries alike. Thus, it is the aim of this conference to provide a pivoting point for researchers and developers to congregate in one assembly to be able to discuss and share their experiences in the diverse areas of IT and computer science research, and development work.
It is hoped that this inaugural conference on research and applications development of IT would garner the immense potential of researchers and application developers. Thus promoting Malaysia as a center of excellence in IT and computer science, and eventually will diminish the label of just being an end-user merely ‘pushing boxes’ of this ever changing technology. Whilst not only as a ‘vehicle’ to promote Malaysia as a center of excellence in Research and Applications Development in ICT, the conference also serves as a platform where UNITAR and its academics would gain an immense wealth of knowledge and experience in organizing such an esteemed assembly of intellectuals and developers. elligence
