The ongoing progress in neuroscience, neuropharmacology and psychopharmacology have increased the importance of constantly updating our knowledge in these field.
There is a need to discuss these developments, and the various available agents, to understand the mechanisms involved in their actions, and of course the novel therapies which are emerging constantly.
The special focus this year will be on reviews of recent developments. We shall discuss several neurodegenerative disorders: epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, as well as stroke and a host of psychiatric conditions, particularly anxiety disorders and depression. The relevance of animal models to our understanding and the development of therapies will be an important topic.
All these issues will be deliberated in our Conference with our selected faculty in an interactive, multidisciplinary way.
Following the success of the two previous Maldives International Conferences, we are looking forward to see many of you, studying, commenting, and discussing in the Maldives, at what promises to be a most stimulating and enjoyable conference.
