Sixth International Conference On Computer Based Learning in Science (ciblis2003)

The conference is the sixth in a series of international events with the two previous ones having taken place in the Czech Republic and in the Netherlands. The conference will be held at the university of Cyprus and will host invited and contributed papers on the application of information technology in school science programs and in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in mathematics, science and engineering. Keynote speakers will include Professors Celia Hoyles and Richard Noss (Institute of Education, UK), Yasmin Kafai (UCLA), Gerald W. Meisner (University of North Carolina, Greensboro), Bill Sandoval (UCLA) and Uri Wilensky (Northwestern University), all internationally recognized for their work on computer based learning. The conference will also host an exhibition hall with commercial vendors of computer equipment and software as well as networking applications. In the three days prior to the conference there will be a series of laboratory hands-on workshops on the use of specific computer-based approaches in science and mathematics teaching.
