The Adam Smith Institute is pleased to announce the post-1998 return of its Annual CIS Taxation Conference! On June 19-20 2002 Vienna will play host to the 5th international conference on Taxation in Russia and the CIS: Implementation Issues and Investment Strategies.

Since 1999 Russia's tax system has been dramatically overhauled, spurring investment in Russia and prompting tax code reform throughout the CIS. Undoubtedly, 2002 marks a watershed in this process of reform: on January 1, the new Profit Tax was introduced in Russia and a new Tax Code came into force in Kazakhstan. Ukraine is currently on the verge of passing its 'Small Tax Code' and by June this year Russia aims to pass the PSA chapter of the Tax Code.

Taking place six months after the introduction of the final revolutionary changes to Russia's Tax Code, this conference assesses the implementation of tax code reform. Combining presentations from policy makers and top tax consultants with case studies from leading corporations this conference offers real solutions to your corporate tax problems! Furthermore, this conference not only outlines strategies for optimising your tax planning but also analyses the relationship between tax code reform and investment strategy.

Quite simply put, if you are either active in the CIS or planning to be so in the near future, this conference will provide you with all the answers you need to solve your taxation dilemmas!
