This three-day conference is a gathering of education activists, policy makers and practioners sharing and designing models of alternative approaches effective in the rebuilding of education systems for African children in Africa and throughout the African Diaspora. This gathering is meant to make visible the concerns of Malian students and instructors, while giving Malian education rebuilders access to alternatives that come out of proven education practice and, in most cases, have been developed in a "movement" dynamic for making systematic and transformative social change. Expected attendees include Dr. Asa Hilliard III and Dr. Amilcar Shabazz, both scholars of African/African American history and culture.
