The NRRC (Northeast Regional Research Center) is sponsored by the
Advanced Research and Development Activity (ARDA), a U.S. Government
entity that sponsors and promotes research of importance to the Intelligence
Community, which includes, but is not limited to, the CIA, DIA, NSA, NIMA,
and NRO. In 2002, ARDA established the NRRC at MITRE, Bedford to
help solve some of our country's most challenging intelligence research
problems. The NRRC hosts annual, 8-week summer workshops that bring
together groups of regional scientists from academia and industry to
collaboratively work with analysts toward solutions to selected challenge
problems. The summer 2002 workshops are focusing on ARDA’s Advanced
QUestion and Answering forINTelligence (AQUAINT) program.
