| Description |
The "4th International Conference on Basic Biology and Clinical Impact of Immunosenescence" will focus on age-associated alterations of immunity in in vivo and in vitro ageing models. It will be an important tool for the interdisciplinary exchange of scientific knowledge and experience in the fields of immunosenescence and immunogerontology. More specifically, there will be oral presentations on age-related molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in cytokine production and function, immunogenetics, apoptosis, telomere length, DNA repair, chromatin function, as well as other age-dependent functional changes at the molecular and cellular levels. Moreover the clinical aspects of immunosenescence and immunogerontology as well as age-related diseases will also be an important part of this Conference. It is the fourth Conference to be organized by the European thematic network "Immunology and Ageing in Europe" (ImAginE) and its major goal is to facilitate the collaborations amongst over thirty-five European laboratories involved in studies of the molecular, cellular and clinical aspects of immunosenescence and immunogerontology. Furthermore this year the Conference will be held jointly with the Institute for Advanced Studies in Aging and Geriatric Medicine (IASIA).
