Message from the Chair

The 7th IASTED International Multi-Conference on Power and Energy Systems (PES 2003) will be held February 24-26, 2003, in Palm Springs, California. This Multi-Conference provides an opportunity for prominent specialists, researchers, and engineers throughout the world to share the latest research in the areas of power and energy systems. Highlights of the week will include of paper sessions, tutorials, and keynote addresses.

Located 100 miles east of Los Angeles, CA, Palm Springs is a lush oasis amidst a desert. With its numerous palm trees and sun that shines 350 days a year, Palm Springs has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in California. It also boasts an impressive number of exciting attractions, including the Living Desert where one may tour 1200 acres full of fascinating wildlife. One may, also visit the Indian Canyons, famous for their beautiful scenery, or the Joshua Tree National Park, which contains California's most unusual geological phenomena. There are also several excellent museums, including the Palm Springs Desert Museum that displays exhibitions on art, natural science, and performing arts, as well as the Palm Springs Air Museum, which contains one of the world's most impressive assortments of World War II planes.

PES 2003 will be held in conjunction with IASTED's International Conference on Modelling and Simulation (MS 2003). This is an opportunity not to be missed, and we look forward to seeing you there.
