Agent-based computing has been hailed as the next significant breakthrough
in software development, with the potential to affect many aspects of
computer science, from artificial intelligence to the technologies and
models of distributed computation. Agent-based systems are capable of
autonomous action in open, dynamically-changing environments. Agents are
currently being applied in domains as diverse as business information
systems, computer games and interactive cinema, information retrieval and
filtering, user interface design and industrial process control. The aim
of the ABC'03 is to bring together researchers and developers from
industry and academia in order to report on the latest scientific and
technical advances, discuss and debate the major issues, and showcase the
latest systems.

The special session welcomes submissions of original papers concerning all
aspects of software agents. Submissions involving both implementation and
theoretical issues are encouraged.

Topics include but are not limited to:

- Agent architectures
- Agent-based software engineering
- Agent benchmarking and performances
- Agent communication, coordination and cooperation
- Agent languages
- Agent learning and planning
- Agent mobility
- Agent modeling, calculi, and logics
- Agent security
- Applications and Experiences
- Simulating and verifying agent systems

*Submission and Publication:

Submitted papers will be reviewed by the program committee. Papers should
be a maximum of six single-spaced typed pages. Accepted submissions will
be presented orally in the conference and published by means of paper and
electronic proceedings by the International Institute of Informatics and
Systemics (IIIS). In addition, selected and additionally refereed papers
will be published after the meeting as a special issue of a journal (more
details will be provided later).

Submit your papers to: sag@cs.siu.edu
