Purpose:
The primary purpose of the convention is to provide a forum for federal, state and local governments, including intelligence, law enforcement, and first responder organizations, to help understand each other's requirements and concerns regarding Homeland Security. The convention will provide a common platform for attendees to discuss and share information as it pertains to Homeland Security, leading to more focused discussions and stronger working relationship within and among federal, state and local agencies. The private sector will be actively involved in the convention as well, as it too plays an important role in Homeland Defense.
Content - the content will focus on four of the Critical Mission Areas detailed in the National Strategy for Homeland Security:
* Intelligence and Warning
* Border, Maritime and Transportation Security
* Critical Infrastructure Protection (Cyber and Infrastructures)
* Emergency Preparedness and Response
