This year sees the introduction of a new kind of conference; the Biological Production Summit. The premier European forum for senior executives in the biological production field, Biological Production Summit 2002 tackles head-on the growing problem of capacity in the biological production field. The event aims to provide a lasting solution to Europe’s capacity shortfall.
Production is set to become a real bottleneck in the development of new drugs. The last decade has seen an explosion in new biological drugs in late-stage development. Unfortunately, the expertise and capacity needed to bring these drugs to market does not yet exist in sufficient quantities, and at present there is very limited capacity in Europe for production of biological products.
