Description This workshop provides a unique opportunity for established investigators and students to interact and
exchange ideas regarding the use of new and developing technologies to study the nanostructural
aspects of the genome, nuclear architecture and biomolecular machinery required for genome-scale
management of gene expression. This topic is particularly relevant in light of the availability of complete
model genome sequence data and the implications that sequence elements, both known and unknown,
may have on genome structure and organization within the nucleus. It is especially important that
scientific communication keep pace with discovery, particularly with respect to advances across
disciplines which may have profound impact on the pace of breakthrough discovery. It is, therefore, the
primary aim of this workshop to promote communication between the fields of genomics and
nanotechnology. Toward this end, students and established investigators from several disciplines will
have an opportunity to share new ideas, identify potential collaborations and help chart a course for the
future of “nanogenomics”.
The workshop will provide ample opportunity for formal presentations along with formal and informal
sessions of dialogue and brainstorming. All registrants, particularly postdoctoral fellows, will be strongly
encouraged to submit abstracts and present posters. Abstracts of particular interest will be chosen for
~15 minute presentations.
Additional Information Registration Fee (Includes: welcome reception, lunches, coffee breaks, and one banquet dinner)
For-profit: $800 ; Non-profit: $400 ; Students: $250 (Must be enrolled in a degree program with no prior advanced degree).
