| Additional Information |
The 3rd Canadian Conference on Geotechnique and Natural Hazards, which follows the successful conferences in Vancouver in 1992 and Montreal in 2000, will highlight recent advances in geohazard risk assessment and mitigation in Canada. A collection of keynote speakers, papers, and poster presentations will be incorporated into a two-day, single session conference. An underlying purpose of the conference is to promote discussion between the various geoscience disciplines practicing in the field of natural hazards in Canada. Suggested topic areas for the conference include:
Slope Movements
Snow Avalanches
Seismic Hazards
Floods and Natural Dams
Emerging Hazards
Risk Reduction and Hazard Mitigation
Authors submitting abstracts should indicate their preference for an oral or poster presentation. However, since there is a limit to the number of oral papers that can be accepted, some abstracts submitted for oral papers may be accepted as posters. Abstract deadline is September 30, 2002, and authors will be informed of abstract acceptance by November 15, 2002. The authors of papers accepted for oral presentation are required to submit a manuscript (up to 8 pages long) for publication in the conference proceedings. Papers must be accepted by the Technical Committee for publication in the conference proceedings. These manuscripts as well as author conference registration must be received by February 15, 2003.
Please submit a copy of your abstract (500 words maximum) before September 30, 2002 to:
