| Description |
This short course will provide pragmatic and comprehensive instruction in the design and analysis of surface panels for high speed vehicles. The high performance requirements of these panels will be presented and discussed, and the design and analysis methods to meet these requirements will be provided. Topics to be covered include approaches to the design of Thermal Protection Systems (TPS), treatment of panels in extreme acoustic environments, supersonic and hypersonic panel flutter analysis methods, analysis methods for panel response under combined loading and fatigue life estimation methods. Each topic will contain sufficient examples to demonstrate the practical application of the methods addressed.
