The AIAA Modeling and Simulation Technologies (MST) Conference is a forum to present and discuss technical and scientific developments in simulation techniques and applications. Simulation has rapidly become an integral tool in the design, development, validation, procurement, and operational phases of the life cycle of many vehicles and their subsystems. Through modeling and simulation, the aerospace community has expanded the horizon for innovation, stretched the boundary of knowledge, and extended the technology benefits across professions.

This years MST Conference consists of 18 technical paper sessions. The MST Conference continues to address traditional topics in aerospace vehicle modeling, as well as, the history and future uses of simulation. Other sessions will include air traffic management simulations, space vehicle simulation, and simulation uses and techniques. Three workshops, “Flight Simulator Acceptance & Qualification—A Detailed Look at How and Why a Device Is Tested,” “Use of COTS Software Tools for Simulation,” and “When and why does motion affect control behavior,” will provide in-depth discussions to address these topics. This year the MST Conference will feature, Joseph E. Sweeney, Director of Flight Operations for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company as its plenary speaker. Mr. Sweeney’s presentation is titled “The Flight Simulation/Flight Test Relationship—Striking the Proper Balance.”
