Understanding IL-1 actions in the nervous system (IL-12003)
|Event Date/Time: Oct 23, 2003||End Date/Time: Oct 26, 2003|
|Registration Date: Sep 23, 2003|
|Early Registration Date: Jul 31, 2003|
|Abstract Submission Date: Jul 31, 2003|
Topics to be covered:
Key topics will relate to basic mechanisms of IL-1, including processing, release and signal transduction pathways. There will also be detailed discussion of the role of IL-1 in several different processes including learning and memory, depression, sickness behaviour, aging, epilepsy and neurodegenerative disease. This illustrates the diversity of IL-1 actions and the pressing need to fully understand how it acts so that effective therapeutic agents can be developed in the future.
The meeting will use a "Gordon Conference" style format with presentation of unpublished data and long periods of discussion. There will be poster presentations of submitted abstracts, with some being selected by the Programme Commitee to be delivered as short oral communications. Reduced rates will be offered for students.
