This event follows three very successful Workshops held in Ascona (1995), at Mohican State Park in Ohio (1998) and in Karlsruhe (2001).
The aim of the Symposium will be to discuss the latest advances related to the application of Control Engineering to motor vehicles. The increase in road traffic has been a major problem for the past century, and the challenges of this century will be to reduce environmental impact and energy consumption, while improving safety and comfort.
Control Engineering has played a key role in Automotive field in last decades, allowing for spectacular improvements with respect to the “pre-electronic age”, and will represent a decisive factor for the achievement of new and more advanced goals and for the success of the automotive industry in near future.
As in the previous editions, particular attention will be paid in stimulating the participation of researchers from universities and from industry, in order to promote useful discussions between academic partners, car-manufacturers and subcontractors.
