Firms use alliances, mergers, and acquisitions to acquire new resources, expand their capabilities, and to strengthen their position in their competitive environment. In the last decade, the business community has had the opportunity to observe the effects of these devices across many industries. While very promising, alliances, mergers, and acquisitions are complex, and have often led to undesirable results. The aim of IASTED's Alliances, Mergers, and Acquisitions conference is to act as a forum for the exchange of information and experiences among experts from academia, business, and government on this interdisciplinary subject. All papers submitted to this conference will be peer reviewed by at least two members of the International Program Committee. Acceptance will be based primarily on originality and contribution. Highlights of the week will include paper sessions, tutorials, and keynote addresses.

Located across the Charles River from Boston, Cambridge offers an exciting multicultural setting as well as two of the world's premier educational institutions, making it the ideal venue for AMA 2004.

AMA 2004 will be held in conjuction with the international conferences on Parallel and Distributed Computing and Systems (PDCS 2004), Communication and Computer Networks (CCN 2004), and Software Engineering and Applications (SEA 2004).
