The Faculty of Communication and Media Studies at Eastern Mediterranean University invites paper, panel and event proposals addressing the general theme of: "Ethics in Communication: Culture, Community, Identity... " The International conference which will be held at the EMU campus in Gazimaðusa, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), from May 5-7, 2004, intends to bring together a broad range of opinions and perspectives to a discourse on the present and future concerns in the fields of communication, media, ethics, cultural identity and community.

Submissions in both English and Turkish are welcome. Simultaneous translation services will be available for both languages.

Deadline for submitting proposals will be January 16th, 2004. An electronic submission form is provided at the conference website:

Notifications of acceptance together with a paper style sheet will be sent on February 6th, 2004 together with a paper style sheet. Abstracts and papers will be accessible to all participants on the conference website once the complete program is available. Registration deadline for speakers and participants is March 5, 2004.

Submissions are subject to blind peer review at every stage. Selected papers will subsequently be published in the refereed faculty journal Mediterranean Journal of Media & Communication Studies.
