| Description |
In September 2003 the University of Central Lancashire will be celebrating its 175th anniversary from its small beginnings as The Preston Institute for the iffusion of Knowledge to its present position as the 6th largest university in the UK. The highlight of the celebrations will be an international conference the theme of which is The Diffusion of Knowledge - Past, Present and Future of Higher Education.
The teheme will be explored through both a national and an international perspective. The emphasis will be on how we can understand the present role of higher education fromt he past, and how our understanding of the present illuminates how higher education will change in the 21st century. The conference will be of interest to a worldwide audience from universities, colleges, organisations and companies with an interest in knowledge and education in a local and global context.
