EVENT THEME
The 'Safety Load Code of Practise', first published in the early 1970s, was welcomed by the UK haulage industry at large.
This seminar will take into consideration the advances that have been made over the last thirty years, such as better vehicle breaking and cornering speeds and the effect this has had on securing the load safely.
It will also consider the pressure placed on the haulier to keep the load secure and unload the vehicle more quickly, along with the need for recorded documentated training in order to meet the standards encouraged by the HSE.
The results of loads falling from lorries can be disasterous, both in terms of injury-insurance costs and the subsequent legal action that can lead to corporate manslaughter.
Delegates will have the opportunity to participate in two mock court scenes involving accidents as a result of a lorry shedding its load.
Supporting the seminar will be an exhibition demonstrating the state of the art of safe loading equipment and loading systems.
