A
t this time,although early to present a full programme of the CROInfo 2004
Conference,dedicated once more to the knowledge management topic in industry
and science,we are proud to announce that besides inviting a number of very
distinguished speakers from Croatia and neighboring countries we worked hard to
bring you the best speakers from the international arena in order to fulfill our promise
to grow this conference into a truly international event.Clearly the most important
objective of this committee was to find experienced people with real life stories who
were willing to share their experiences and results with one underlying motto -“what
it is what makes knowledge management work well in today's organizations and why
it is so important to institute such management tools and related infrastructure as soon
as possible “.
Nevertheless,it is my great pleasure to announce that Mr.Martin White of Intranet
Focus Ltd and Dr.Sergei Ikovenko,From Invention Machines Inc,will be with us
again at CROInfo 2004.This time,Mr.White will be talking about the hybridization of
the knowledge management and Intranet systems as well as benefits mutual to both,
and Dr.Ikovenko will discuss the role of semantic processing and text mining in
building corporate KM systems.
A list of international speakers,although not complete at this time,also includes Dr.
Iva Wilson from The Coaching Collaborative,who will be talking about the human side
of the knowledge management projects;Dr.Wolfgang Thielemann from Bayer
Healthcare AG,who will be presenting Bayer ’s experiences in extracting scientific
information from patents using text mining procedures;Mr.Steve Ellis,from HSBC,
who will be delivering a talk on a managerial side of the KM implementation;and Mr.
Dirk Ramhorst from Siemens Business Services,Chief Information Office,who is
responsible for the project management of knowledge management projects.
And finally,the Programme Committee is bound to bring to you few more special
guests who should be able to give broad knowledge management addresses and/or
knowledge management outcome speeches relevant for the industry and academic
organizations.In tune with this orientation,we contacted some renowned names from
the world class institutions like MIT and Cambridge University,with a mission in mind
to provide the best possible content for the CROInfo 2004 conference ’s audience,and
we justifiably expect that our best efforts will materialize in revealing their names by the
time the second announcement reaches our distinguished delegates.

Conference sponsors
All individuals,firms and organizations willing to sponsor the organization of the conference are invited
to contact us to negotiate sponsorship options.
Registration fees
² Participants from academic or non-profit organizations:
100 EUR -early registration till April 15,2004
-three or more participants from the same organization
125 EUR -after April 15,2004 and on-site registration
² Participants from for-profit organizations:
150 EUR -early registration till April 15,2004
-three or more participants from the same organization
200 EUR -after April 15,2004 and on-site registration
The fee includes admission to all sessions,conference materials (with Proceedings and a CD with
presentations),and social program (welcome reception and conference dinner).
Participants presenting and/or exhibiting products and services are exempt from the conference fee.
SPECIAL NOTE:For participants from Croatia all payments need to be made in HRK,according to the official
exchange rate on the day of payment.For all payment an invoice will be issued.
