The IX International Conference on the Problems of Solvation and Complex Formation in Solutions will be held from 28 June till 2 July, 2004 in Plyos, Russia. This Conference has being traditionally organizing by the Institute of Solution Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ivanovo State University of Chemical Technology, and the Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society since 1977. Usually the Conference brings together about 200 participants from Former Soviet Union and from other countries. It provides a stimulating forum for interaction and discussion between the scientists from various disciplines interested in physics and chemistry of liquids and solutions.

Scientific program
Section 1. Solvation, complex formation and reactivity of compounds in liquid systems: theory and experiment.
solvation theory and reaction mechanisms in solutions;
new classes of complex compounds;
solutions under extreme conditions;
supramolecular chemistry and self-organization in solutions.

Section 2. From solution phenomena to new technologies.
solutions as a base for nanostructures formation;
chemistry of natural and synthetic polymers and dyes.

The program of the conference includes:
Plenary Lectures (30-40 min);
Oral Communications (15-20 min);
Poster Session.
Conference Languages are Russian and English.

Additional Information

Conference Fees Regular participants - $300; Students - $150; Accompanying person - $100. The registration fee includes the attendance at the Conference, Book of Abstracts, Welcome Party, Conference Dinner, coffee-breaks, and all social events. The registration fee does not include the cost of board and lodging. Registration fee should be paid in cash on arrival. The conference will be held in a beautifull ancient russian town Plyos situated on the hilly bank of the great russian river Volga. Plyos was founded in 1410 by Vasily I, the son of the legendary founder of the Moscow State Dmitry Donskoy. It served as a bastion of Moscow Princes on Volga and protected russian country from the tatars. In the 17th century Plyos was one of the centre of a great fight against the polish invaders headed by Prince Pozharski and Kuzma Minin. Till the end of the 18th century Plyos was a big commercial centre and seaport. From the 19th century Plyos was a popular resort town. Many famous russian painters liked to work here such as Ilya Repin, Fyodor Vasilyev, Alexey Stepanov, Vasily Baksheev, Isaak Levitan. Plyos was a favourite rest place of the great russian basso Fyodor Shalyapin. At present Plyos known as the "Volga's Pearl" is a plenty place with picturesque landscapes and antique churches. There is an unique museum of the great russian painter Isaak Levitan in Plyos with many of his originals. Plyos enters the world famous tourist routes “The Golden Ring of Russia” and "Volga".
