Description
This year's program will again provide the professional update that accoutants and auditors need to face the challenges in their jobs. Participants will learn what is new in the Auditing Standards Board, how state boards of accountancy are reacting to PCAOB, issues and concerns related to CPAs in Virginia, as well as tax, GASB and accounting and auditing of nonprofits updates, risk assessment and audit of internal control under SAS 96 and SAS 99. Professionals can also choose additional topics such as differential accounting (Big GAAP and little GAAP), auditing employee benefits, OCBOA financial statements (procedures, disclosures, and strategies for serving the client). One of the key topics this year will be the accountant's malpractice action: the rights, duties and potential liabilities of an accountant to a dissatified client. And there are more topics.
The sessions are led by leaders in the field of accounting and auditing. Speakers are carefully chosen to provide professionals with the most up-to-date and practical information.
Lodging is available at a special conference rate at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center.
