Description
The targeted public for this workshop are scientists interested in synchrotron based techniques for their research in environmental sciences. This includes everyone from full time beamline scientists to prospective synchrotron users. At this meeting, oral and poster presentations should foster discussions about the contribution of synchrotron techniques in solving environmental issues and the future developments of these techniques. Papers covering all aspects of environmental sciences are welcome, including but not limited to, characterization of natural and contaminated systems, nutrient and contaminant transport in soils and water, remediation techniques, atmospheric processes, waste stabilization, risks associated with the use of manufactured materials… Papers presenting beamlines dedicated to environmental studies will receive special attention.
The workshop will be held from October 18th through October 21st 2004, at the CEREGE, a research center for environmental sciences located between Aix-en-Provence and Marseille (France), and operated by the University of Aix-Marseille III and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS).
