New Regulations "The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2004" come into force in April. They replace most of the current regulations governing the carriage of dangerous goods, and include some significant changes. They will implement for the first time into domestic law the provisions in RID Regulations concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail 2003) and ADR (the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road 2003) governing the construction, inspection, testing and use of tanks and pressure receptacles used for the transport of dangerous goods.

The new Regulations will fully implement the Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive and the particular requirements that this Directive imposes over and above those in RID and ADR in order to ensure a basis for the free movement of such equipment throughout
the EU.

The seminar will explain the effects of recent changes in legislation on the various parties involved. The roles of the Competent Authority, Approved Bodies, Notified Bodies,Manufacturers and Users will be covered, as well as some recent practical problems that have been encountered with certain types of equipment.
