Description

Scope of SMBN 2004
The Third International Symposium on Single-Molecule Bioanalysis and Nano-biodevice (SMBN 2004) will be held in Takamatsu Symbol Tower, Takamatsu, Japan on November 24-25, 2004. SMBN 2004 meeting will include topics that related to research, development and application of single molecule techniques and nano-biotechnology for establishment of advanced technology for personalized preventive medicine and personal genome based healthcare. SMBN is organized by Single-Molecule Bioanalysis Laboratory (SMBL), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). The scientific program will be composed of the invited keynote lectures and poster presentations from the research groups of SMBL and co-workers. A technical exhibition of commercial instruments will be also held during the conference.

Scope of ISMM 2004

The Fourth International Symposium on Microchemistry and Microsystems (ISMM 2004) will be held in Takamatsu Symbol Tower, Takamatsu, Japan on November 25-26, 2004. ISMM 2004 covers the fields of Micro Chemical Chip Technologies, Micro Total Analysis Systems, Lab-on-a-Chip, BioMEMS and other applications of MEMS/Nanotechnologies for Chemistry and Biochemistry. Micro chemical systems such as microchip and capillary devices have attracted much attention from many scientists and engineers. Micro- and nano-scale techniques are expected to bring about a revolution in conventional chemical, biochemical and medical technologies. For practical applications of the micro/nano techniques, a breakthrough by collaboration of researchers from various fields such as chemistry, mechanical engineering, and electronic engineering will be indispensable. The aim of this symposium is to provide opportunities for discussion and to promote collaborations between the researchers. The scientific program will be composed of the invited keynote lectures and poster presentations. Authors are invited to contribute original poster presentations. A technical exhibition of commercial instruments will be also held during the conference.

Call for papers (POSTER PRESENTATION)
Researchers are invited for poster presentation of their research in the fields of Micro Total Analysis Systems or Lab-on-a-Chip technologies according to the following categories.

- Microfluidics
- MEMS technology
- Nanotechnology
- Materials
- Application
- Detection technologies
- Other categories

Application for poster presentation
Everyone that plans to present a poster is required to submit a two-page abstract of the presentation. Only an electronic document (MS-Word file) can be accepted. Authors should prepare the abstract according to the format which is described in a abstract template.
The author that presents posters is also required to complete the Abstract Submission Form for each presentation.
The Abstract Submission Form and abstract can be downloaded from the symposium web-site and should be sent by September 24, 2004 as attached files to the following address.
