This Conference ObComAPC-2004 is a major event to be conducted following the grand success of ObCom ¡V 2003, which was audited by a good number of participants from Academia and Industry across the Nation. ObCom ¡V 2003 received good contributions right from leading educational institutions to corporate. ObCom-2003 attracted various governmental and non-governmental agencies like DRDO, ISTE, DIT, CSIR etc., to sponsor the program.
The history of computing has always been one of searching for higher performance. The demand for increased calculation capability in the parallel and distributed field is unlimited. The possibility to assemble ones own supercomputer out of off-the-shelf components, such as high-end PCs, has changed the performance scene markedly. The hardware substrate for modest to complex supercomputing equipment is now ubiquitously available. As a result, not surprisingly, the high performance parallel and distributed computing has attracted increased attention.
ObComAPC ¡V 2004 aims to promote the exploitation of parallel and distributed computing in order to achieve better functionalities and performance. This is achieved through the development of several abstract levels for parallel and distributed execution, and their application to support generic computational models as well as application-specific computational models.
The technical sessions of the conference will consist of original papers reporting on theoretical and experimental research, development etc. The topics of interest include the following and any other related topics:

„Y Parallel and Distributed computing architectures
