Second International Conference on Women and Politics in Asia 2004
Colombo, Sri Lanka 19-20 November 2004 –Trans Asia Hotel
The second International Conference on Women & Politics in Asia will be held in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka on 19-20 November 2004 at Trans Asia Hotel. There are Participants from 15 countries have already registered, making this a truly international event.
In June 2003, the first conference of Women & Politics in Asia was held in Hamstad University, Sweden. Over 100 participants representing 25 countries attended this activity
Like previous conferences this conference provides an opportunity for researchers, academics, policy-makers and teachers from within Asia as well as from outside the region who have continuing interest in the region to participate and share their research findings, thoughts and perspectives on various issues

CALL FOR PAPERS
The organizers invite you to participate in the international conference on women and politics in Asia to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 19-20 November 2003.' We invite abstracts for papers expanding on this central theme, and on other relevant topics. The conference is multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary and welcomes papers from the social sciences and the humanities.
The abstracts should be not less than 200 words and not more than 400 words and forward to
ihdt@sltnet.lk on or before 30th August 2004 for consideration.
REGISTRATION FEE
The conference has to depend on the registration fees of the participants for organizing the event in Colombo and therefore we advise you to make your own arrangements to participate.
We have to fix the registration fee as US $ 110 (Minimum) to organize this two days event in Colombo.
PRE- CONFERENCE WORKSHOP:
In addition to the conference an interactive one day International Workshop on “Women & Leadership” is organized by the Institute of Human Development & Training for the international and Sri Lankan participants on 18th November 2004 before the conference.
PRE AND AFTER CONFERENCE TOURS
The conference organizers have arranged 3 tours before and after the conference to explore Sri Lanka. Also we have a tour programme for accompanying persons during the conference.
