As we embark on the 21st century, it is becoming clear that higher education across the world is undergoing a series of fundamental changes with extensive technological advancements giving rise to the virtual campus. New instructional delivery systems are reshaping the educational experience. The function of the university is being restructured.

The focus of this international conference is to address the various issues surrounding the uses and possibilities of technology in teaching and learning. Following previously successful conferences in 2000 (funded by the Spencer Foundation), 2001 and 2003, this forum will bring together faculty, students, staff, administrators and other interested parties involved with the organization and delivery of distance education and technology issues.

The Conference Planning Committee expects that participants will have the opportunity to:

Engage in interactive sessions with other attendees
Share research and teaching/training applications with colleagues
Meet and form partnerships for future research and teaching
Learn about innovative uses of technology
Reflect on the implications of information technologies on teaching and learning
Assess the impact and future of these technological applications on higher education
Travel and experience the surrounding sights
