Emerging DoD and Service C4ISR systems will play the critical role in exploiting the information rich network-centric environment of the future warfighter. Increased bandwidth availability and the rapid introduction of new technology promise to provide tomorrow's commander with a vast array of new capabilities and an ever-expanding multi-dimensional picture of the battlespace. But as the nature of warfighting is transformed from platform-centric to network-centric joint operations, the issue of interoperability assumes paramount importance. To achieve the required consistency of availability and compatibility across systems and services, DoD and the Services have embarked on an enterprise-wide approach to C4ISR planning, with the core objective being the development of C4ISR architectures that are "services-oriented" and are interoperable through shared architectural components and structures.
AIA, ANA, and NMIA are pleased to have assembled the key military and industry experts in C4ISR architecture RDT&E. They will provide an in-depth examination of the emerging C4ISR architecture needs, initiatives, opportunities and challenges. What role will DoDAF play in influencing C4ISR investment? What are the individual Service approaches to C4ISR Architectural Transformation? How will NCES, Constellation Net, IPv6 and other initiatives provide the infrastructure for future interoperable C4ISR Architectures? What are the tools, techniques, and guidelines for implementing DoDAF-Compliant Products? What are the Industry Best Practices for C4ISR Architecture development, assessment, and V&V? These and many other critical questions will be addressed during this outstanding two-day event.
