Event Date/Time: Sep 12, 2004
The Yucatán Peninsula is unique in the Maya world in having a continuous literary tradition dating from the prehispanic to contemporary period. The theme for the Third Annual Tulane Maya Symposium and Workshop is "Fifteen Centuries of Maya Literature from the Northern Lowlands." We invite you to join us for an exploration of hieroglyphic, Colonial, and contemporary texts written by the Yucatec Maya. This year's program features a series of lectures, discussions, and workshops led by specialists in the fields of epigraphy, linguistics, anthropology, and Colonial history.
Please visit our website at http://stonecenter.tulane.edu/MayaSymposium for registration information and forms, lodging, and a schedule of events going on throughout the weekend.
