-The Graduate Programs in Comparative Literature, Theory and Criticism, and
Spanish invite proposals (500-750 words) for 20-minute presentations on
literature, literary theory, visual arts, cinema, music, science, philosophy,
social sciences, linguistics, media studies, etc.
-Proposals in English, Spanish, or French should be accompanied by short CV and
address, and submitted by JANUARY 7, 2005
DESCRIPTION:
What are pornography’s “NOts” about? What are the bouts of porn? Is porn always
graphic? Technologically restricted? Defined à rebours? A commodity image or
the bounds of the image? Catharsis or mimesis? Simulacra? Usage and abusage
of language? Sex in-fringing the Word? Deictic fingers and onomatopoeias?
Euphemisms or lingua franca? Swearing to God? State affairs? Legally–philic?
Psychopatia Sexualis? Pedagogy/ Prophylaxis? Outcome-income? Empty hands on
dirty minds? Nobody’s everybody? A gender/ a genre? Fetish I/lands?
