Welcome to the 3rd International Conference on Multimedia and Information & Communication Technologies in Education (m-ICTE2005) to be held in Cáceres, Spain on June 5-8th, 2004. Just like previous editions It means to build an international forum in Spain with the aim of promoting discussion about the pedagogical potential of new learning and educational technologies both in the academic and corporate world.
mICTE2005 means to promote a multi and inter-disciplinary approach to learning technologies so bringing together specialists from different areas of expertise is a major goal. Researches and professionals in many areas related to education often work disconnected so sharing knowledge and reflection in such a spread community formed by educational researchers, educational consultants, teachers, learning material developers, computer scientists, course managers and courser directors, e-learning-related company managers, programmers, etc. is needed to create new insights and to expand expertise.
This forum also seeks to promote developments in areas at the interface between Technology, Education and Sociology. By sharing experiences, m-ICTE2005 means to describe, on one hand, how governments, universities, schools, and other educational and training institutions are using ICTs in different countries and how these technologies are affecting educational, economical and industry-related fields of the society. On the other hand, m-ICTE2005 will discuss how national and supranational governments are developing strategies to promote the inclusion ofICTs in educational contexts, based on different vision of what future scenarios will be. m-ICTE2005 aims to cover a range of topics which involve agents with many different approach to ICTs in Education.
mICTE2005 is intended to turn into the consolidation of this series of conferences. ICTE2002 had more than 300 attendees from 50 countries and m-ICTE2003 had more than 450 attendees from over 60 countries. Both conferences produced valuable Proceedings volumes containing 1700 (3 volumes) and 2000 (3 volumes) pages respectively, including different kinds of materials (research papers, technical notes, project descriptions, work in progress reports, etc), and accurately reflecting the state of the art in learning technologies and policies, and their applications.
