| Description |
The Mining Engineering Department of the University of Chile invites you to participate in the 6th version of the International Seminar on Paste and Thickened Tailings – Paste 2005 to be held in Santiago Chile, April 20 to 22, 2005.
Objectives: This Seminar will focus on the latest technologies in the preparation, transportation and disposal of paste and thickening tailings in a safe and environmental sound way.
Areas of Interest: Environmental advantages of thickened tailings disposal (TTD); Transport and disposal of high-density thickened tailings; Rheological and material characterization; Paste thickeners; Filtering; Underground backfilling; Surface disposal; Economic advantages of TTD; Case studies and new projects; Water conservation.
Program: The technical program includes plenary sessions, presentations by topics, discussion panels and a technical visit to a tailings dam with a technical demonstration of pilot plant equipments.
