Dear Sir/Madam

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Polish Section of the European Regional Science Association, together with the Faculty of Management (University of Lodz) and the Cracow University of Economics, is organising the 18th edition of the European Advanced Studies Institute in Regional Science.

The main theme of the Summer Institute is: "New Members – New Challenges for the European Regional Development Policy".

The Institute is planned to take place in two Polish cities: Lodz and Cracow. We are planning to start the Institute on July 1st, 2005 in Cracow where the participants will remain until July 4th. Then the venue of the Institute will be moved to Lodz. The Institute will then be concluded in Lodz on July 10th.

I hereby wish to invite you to participate in this great event.

The programme consists of:
- Firstly, a conference part, during which all participants will present their papers,
- Secondly, a series of Summer Institute Lectures, during which the invited Key Speakers will deliver lectures to all participants,
- And thirdly, seminar discussions serving as a venue for exchanging views and discussing key issues.
