Description

The idea of this conference came from a research agreement established in 1994 by the Curso de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Civil of Universidade Federal Fluminense (Niterói, Brazil) and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of University College London (London, England). In may 1998 the first version of the conference took place at the Meridien Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, with the participacion of more than 200 and foreigner researchers.

The fourth version counts with the support of the University of Puerto Rico, being professor Luis Augusto Godoy participating in the organization of the conference, and of Professor Alan P. Jeary, of the University of Western Sidney, Australia.

The Conference is intended for Engineers and Architects, either in practice research and for students.

The Conference will be held in João Pessoa, Brazil, from the 14 to the 18 of august 2005, and there will be special lectures by Brazilian and foreigner reseachers. The relevance of the subject, the every day problems shown by reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, totally justify the realization of this conference.
