SENSOR-TO-SHOOTER is an international forum that addresses the key issues and challenges affecting the modern battlespace. It will focus on evaluating the use of sensors, C2 systems and fire control in enabling time critical targeting and increasing real-time situational awareness. Today’s security environment poses new serious threats to many countries that now come under dispersed and unexpected attacks by a variety of modes with little warning.
The value of rapid targeting is obvious at the tactical level of war. If the process is slow, time-urgent opportunities may be lost or mobile targets may be long gone by the time an air strike gets there. Tightening the sensor-to-shooter loop is long overdue, and the effort to do it has an excellent chance to succeed.
