Description

It is our great pleasure to invite you to submit your research to this premier optical communications conference and exhibition. The Asia-Pacific Optical Communications Conference provides you with an important forum for the exchange of information on recent advances and future trends in optical components and systems technologies, optical Internet developments, optical network trends and applications, and associated services. Special emphasis is placed on Greater China and the Asia-Pacific region which represent one of the world's most rapidly growing markets for telecom and information technology systems and services. The conference is organized on your behalf by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, SPIE, Chinese Optical Society, and China Institute of Communications.
APOC 2005 will feature a Plenary session, Industry Forum, workshops, tutorials, and many technical sessions with oral and poster papers. As in APOC 04, APOC 05 expects to host more than 500 contributed papers and 80 invited papers by many of the world's most prominent researchers and business leaders. The Industry Forum on "Telecom Business Development in China and Asia" will provide a unique opportunity for APOC delegates to have an in-depth look at China telecom regulations and the Asia telecom market.
The APOC Technical Program Committee is pleased to continue the selection of Best Student Paper Awards to students who are first authors and presenters of contributed talks. One winner will be elected for each of the four subject areas of the conference. The student authors are required to identify their student status at the time of submission.
Many famous Shanghai tourist attractions such as The Pudong New Area with Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai Old Street, and The Bund with Huangpu River, among others, are exciting places to visit and are easily accessible to the conference participants. A short driving distance away from Shanghai are Suzhou with its picturesque canals and many traditional Chinese Gardens, and Hangzhou, a beautiful resort city on the West Lake.
We welcome your participation!
