Advances of the plant genetics and functional genomics, as well as the establishment of proteomics and metabolomics technological platforms, have provided a strong basis for systematic research on plant gene regulatory network, protein-protein interactions and the regulatory mechanisms of developmental and physiological processes. In recent years, Chinese scientists have made tremendous achievements in various fields including rice genome sequencing, comparative genomics, plant development, secondary metabolism, and others. To enhance international communication in this field and to promote plant molecular biological research efforts, the International Conference on the Frontiers of Plant Molecular Biology will be held in Shanghai, China, from Oct. 26th to 29th, 2005.

The conference will invite leading scientists in this field, particularly those who have made great contributions in plant functional genomics and proteomics, to present their recent work. The presentations will include topics on plant signal transduction, disease resistance, stress resistance, development and metabolism regulation using different approaches including functional genomics, proteomics, metabolomics and bioinformatics.

Plant molecular biologists, biotechnologists or any others interested are warmly welcomed to participate in the conference
