The Plant Management Institute is an unique management-training program, specifically geared to provide power plant owners, asset managers and plant managers a way to train business and people “wise” managers. The Plant Management Institute has been created to meet our industry's growing need for a practical blend of business and technology education for today’s power plant leaders.

No doubt you've noticed that your existing training options— picking up management books at the airport newsstand, attending business courses at the nearby college, sitting through leadership seminars hosted by the Human Resources department — provide you only with buzzwords, academic fluff, and generic advice. In contrast, the Plant Management Institute supplies hard-hitting ideas and detailed insights on managing today's power plant. Led by veteran managers with experience in practically every power plant fuel and technology in use today, our program is a semester-long business-management course distilled into a three-day workshop.

The Plant Management Institute staff will be supplemented on this program with Rob Swanekamp. He brings to the team not only years of plant-management experience, but a flair for educational success proven in his former work as Editor-in-Chief of POWER magazine and in his current work steering the HRSG User's Group.

Sterling Energy was established in 1989 as a company of power plant management professionals dedicated to providing effective business and technical solutions to management and leadership issues confronting developers, owners and operators of power generating facilities. Since then, the quality of our people and our commitment to meeting our client’s highest expectations have permitted us to contribute positively to power projects owned by over 60 clients in 20 countries.
