| Description |
This congress, organized by INTA, is a valuable opportunity to further identify the most effective policy strategies for supporting competitiveness in metropolitan and regional areas and to address the challenges confronted by local authorities to develop their knowledge-based economy and social conditions to create or maintain their world position. The Congress is organized into several sessions, each with an expert presentation followed by a panel discussion. Panel discussants will include national and local government representatives, mayors and practitioners. A special session will highlight the Tangier-Tetuan case study, leveraging globalisation through a trans-regional strategy.Competitiveness is about the capacity of territories to contribute to the creation of economical activities, and to attract people and capital in a competitive environment. If territories are more concerned with competition than National States they do not possess so numerous and effective instruments and their adjustment capacity to face the structural shocks is weaker. The strategic management of the territories concerns just as well their quality of collective governance, their capacity to formulate appropriate competitive strategies as well as their ability to offer innovative services to their populations and economic partners.Registration before the 1st of July means a 10% reduction on the regsitration fee.
