The Department of Mathematics and
of the University of Cyprus organizes an
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN FOURIER AND COMPLEX ANALYSIS:
CLASSICAL PROBLEMS-CURRENT VIEW
MAY 6-MAY 11, 2006
The main theme of the conference is the actuality of classical
problems in Fourier and Complex Analysis today and the stimulus
they provide for the interaction between researchers working in
different branches of Analysis . The following mathematicians will
participate with an invited talk:
M.Andersson (Goteborg), C.Berenstein(College Park), C.Berg* (Copenhagen), K.Kazarian (Madrid,), A.Olevskii (Tel-Aviv), A.Sebbar (Bordeaux), N.Tarkhanov (Potsdam), V.Totik (Szeged), A.Tsikh (Krasnoyarsk).
Further invited speakers are expected (*subject to confirmation).
Due to the geographical position of Cyprus, the conference will be
organized as follows: Arrival : May 6, 2006 (most of the flights
arrive late afternoon , early evening). Conference: May
7-8-9-10th , 2006. Each morning session will consist of 3
lectures by Invited Speakers (including breaks, coffee break).In
the early afternoons
there will be parallel sessions for short 20 minutes presentations (at most 4 talks in every session). One afternoon will be free.
Departure: May 11, 2006 (most flights depart in the morning).
We will be staying at the hotel

sandy Protaras beach. In early May the temperature is about 24-27
C. The whole package ( 5- nights in the hotel, half- board, 2
conference dinners , related material, conference fees) will cost
approximately 100 Cyprus Pounds (about 172 Euro at the present
exchange rate) for a single room and about 90 Cyprus pounds ( or
155 euro) per person for a double room. We expect to have special
rates for the participants who wish to extend their stay or/and
for accompanying persons. More information will be available on
the web-page of the conference which will be opened after the
First Announcement by the end of September 2005.
