In this pre-conference workshop you will gain new insights into social change triggered by advances in Complexity Science and come to appreciate the theoretical basis upon which the Positive Deviance approach rests. The workshop is intended for individuals who are not familiar with Complexity Science. It will provide an introduction to the origins, key principles, and implications Complexity Science holds for understanding and participating in human organizations of all types. It will also enable more informed participation and greater opportunities for learning from the main workshop.

Complexity Science is a discipline that is providing important new insights into how living systems self-organize, evolve, and adapt. It represents an intellectual revolution that provides a springboard for new insights and strategies for enhancing human health at all levels, from individuals to organizations to communities.

In this pre-conference workshop, you will learn:
- To define basic Complexity Science principles and concepts
- To apply new and practical complexity-based concepts and techniques in your organizational and community work and in daily life
- How members of Plexus Institute are using Complexity Science insights to improve the health of individuals, families, communities, and organizations of all types
