Meet your Instructor for the US-based CKM
Douglas Weidner, Chairman of the International Knowledge Management Institute, with KM Institutes™ in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, will be your personal instructor for this session. Mr. Weidner created and trademarked the original "CKM™" program in 1999 and the KM Body of Knowledge (KMBOK™). The KMBOK includes the full KM Methodology you will learn and is the rich source for continuous curriculum content updates.
Weidner was Chief Knowledge Engineer for Northrop Grumman (one of the largest U.S. firms with the largest professional services staff in the DC area), 1994-2001. He has consulted in KM to: the World Bank (1996), the United Nations (2000), NASA (2000-01), The World Health Organization (2003-04), and commercial firms such as GM, Lucent, AT&T, etc.
Weidner and the KM Institute have paved the way for KM education in other nations beyond just the U.S. We have trained clients in NIH, SHRDC Malaysia, Kuwait Petro Co. World Bank, US Office of the Secretary of Defense, and many more - in 2005 alone. Meanwhile, Douglas continues to deliver the CKM™ to hundreds of satisfied students and has mentored other CKM™ trainers in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. All graduates automatically become members of the CKM Alumni Association™.
KM Institute now comprises an international faculty of KM subject-matter experts, top-tiered trainers representing a global perspective on KM who share in our passion for it. Successful classes have recently been completed in Australia, Jordan, Kuwait, Switzerland, Singapore, and Malaysia.
CKM™ - Consumer Tips
A great deal of confusion and bogus claims persist in this market. Beyond the obvious expectation of being allowed to review a complete course of study (syllabus), take a moment to compare the actual backgrounds and accomplishments of your instructors. Any training organization touting years of experience as an "expert in the field," should be able to verify their background/experience w/o relying on generalities (eg “a” Fortune 500 company). Further, request that your KM trainer provide proof of CKM classes taught prior to 2003-04. KM Institute will proudly continue to publish past student testimonials and graduate ceremony photos (w/ consent). Why? Because our clients’overwhelmingly positive training experience and subsequent success in KM is orders of magnitude more valid than the false/negative advertising seen elsewhere. We grant you unprecendented access to our former students so they can share their experiences with you themselves. In any case, take advantage of customer references, from us or any training company.
If you are interested in our training programs and wish to familiarize yourself with the experiences our students have had, please do not hesitate to ask. As a smart consumer, you should expect nothing less from your future KM trainer.
