Medicare Part D: Strategic Course Adjustment as Marketing and Enrollment Begin
Venue: Washington Marriott
|Event Date/Time: Nov 17, 2005||End Date/Time: Nov 18, 2005|
September 2 – CMS awards bids to managed care organizations (MCOs) and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs). Now we know which plan sponsors will administer benefits in the various Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) and Medicare Advantage (MA-PD) regions. This is the most significant milestone of 2005, and it is the culmination of a year’s worth of contracting discussions for pharma.
October 1 – Selected MCOs and PBMs begin marketing to Medicare beneficiaries. This marks the beginning of the rush to get seniors enrolled in the Part D program. Patient education and solid enrollment is a key to the success of Part D.
November 15 – Medicare beneficiaries begin enrolling. Seniors will need to pick a plan in their region provided by the MCO or PBM of their choice. Only dual-eligibles, or those who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid, will be auto-enrolled.
Each of these milestones will provide further insight into Part D and will give pharma companies more information with which to refine their strategies at a critical junction just prior to implementation of the benefit. As speakers and major contributors to this event, we urge you to join your colleagues at Strategic Research Institute’s Medicare Part D: Strategic Course Adjustment as Marketing and Enrollment Begin conference being held November, 17 - 18, 2005 in Washington, D.C. Hear how all stakeholders including pharmaceutical companies, MCOs, PBMs, advocacy groups, and CMS are planning to address the issue of driving marketing and enrollment amongst Medicare beneficiaries. The industry’s ability to enroll seniors is critical to the success of the Part D benefit, but everyone will need to work together to accomplish this. We look forward to seeing you at the conference.
