During the seventies and eighties, the seminars were held under the name of the "Conference on the problems of the wet-process phosphoric acid and mineral fertilizers". They were led by agricultural chemistry and fertilization expert Prof. Roman Czuba, whose lectures not only enriched the program of the seminars, but also outlined inspirational way for research and development for the future. The further stage of the conference involved scientists from the fields of zoohygiene and husbandry. Such formula of the conference took into account aspects of fertilization, feeding and husbandry, as well as the technological problems having character of interdisciplinary assemblies called the "Chemistry for Agriculture”.
Currently, the basic aim of the conference is the presentation of scientific research achievements obtained in various interdisciplinary projects. They vary from pollution control in agriculture and chemical industry to agriculture practice.
The assembly is a unique forum for experience exchange and the where new concepts of technological innovations evolve. Traditionally our meetings are attended by representatives of chemical industry and agriculture practice. Besides a number of other aspects, the meetings provide a chance to look into research programs and projects that focus on the use of chemicals in accordance to EU directives: nitrate and urban waste directives, the Code of the Best Agricultural Practice and the Best Available Technology (BAT) in fertilizer industry.
Each seminar has a specific and modified program. For instance, the last five were devoted to the following areas:
26th - “Pollution control in agriculture and fertilizer industry”
27th - “Chemical products in agriculture and environment”
28th - “Chemicals in sustainable agriculture”
29th - “New agrochemicals and their safe use for health and environment”
30th - “Development in production and use of new agrochemicals”
Our present assembly is organized under auspices of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry by the following Polish institutions:
• Institute of Inorganic Technology and Mineral Fertilizers, Wroc³aw University of Technology, Wroclaw, PL
• Institute of Mineral Fertilizers, Pulawy, PL
• Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, Gliwice, PL
• Chair of Animal Hygiene and Animal Breeding Environment, Wroc³aw Agricultural Academy, Wroclaw, PL
• „AGROPHOS” Scientific – Research Center of Chemistry, Agrochemistry and Environment Protection, Wroc³aw, PL
The conference papers are published by Czech-Pol-Trade Company in the form of book within the series “Chemistry of Agriculture”. The last editions from 26th to 29th were distributed by the Czech-Pol-Trade Company.
We hope this conference will develop constantly bringing benefits to more and more scientists and industry and agricultural engineers.
