Description
Drug delivery represents upwards of a$20 billion segment in the pharmaceutical industry. It has been anticipated that by 2005, 20% of all drug s will involve delivery formulations. Many Drug delivery companies have begun building their own product development capabilities, but must still usually turn to a pharma partner at some point- albeit perhaps at later stages of development nowadays. Similarly, while pharma companies might be tending towards in-housing some of their delivery technologies, they will not be able to solve all their delivery problems alone. There will always be a requirement for the expertise of drug delivery specialists and the technologies they offer, and thus forming partnerships will remain an essential for success in the drug delivery industry.
