This course offers practical instruction on common problems in small animal thoracic radiology. Topics will include: how to take high quality thoracic radiographs, how to recognize artifacts that can mimic disease, how positioning and technical factors can affect interpretation of findings, how to systematically read a thoracic radiograph to insure that all abnormalities are identified, and how to interpret abnormal findings. A combination of didactic lectures, clinical cases examples, and an auto tutorial film-reading laboratory will be used to help participants refine their interpretation skills.
