Description Not only is interest in e-Government continuing to grow and extend within the public service sector, but new issues – such as e-Democracy (including e-Voting) and e-Politics – are evolving. These issues are relevant to government at all levels including local, provincial, central or federal government and also at the supranational level such as the European Union. The interest in e-Government is, at least in part, driven by an agenda to radically transform the delivery of public services through the adoption of advanced information and communications technology (ICT) to make the whole process of government more effective. e-Government is clearly not only about technology – it is about reinventing the way in which public sector service providers and citizens interact. It is about enhancing the democratic processes and also about using new ideas to make life easier for the citizen by transforming government processes, providing community leadership, enabling economic development and renewing the role of government itself in society.
